Sarah Boxer '99

Alumni Award

Sarah Boxer is a producer at NBC News and MSNBC, where she covers breaking news and politics. Sarah's background is in field producing; she has worked on some of the biggest national and international news stories from the road in recent years. Her work includes covering the Royal Wedding, BP Oil Spill, Tucson shooting of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, final NASA shuttle launches, Joplin tornado and the trial of Bernard Madoff.

Most recently, Sarah covered the 2012 presidential race from the campaign trail for CBS News and the National Journal. She was embedded with former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for nearly a year during the Republican primary, and traveled non-stop with both his campaign and President Obama's during the general election. She produced on-air stories, wrote articles, shot video and was named by Salon and The Guardian as one of the 50 best political reporters to follow on Twitter.

Sarah began her career at CNN after graduating from Cornell University in Ithaca, NewYork, with a double major in English and History. She attended high school at the Ramaz Upper School, and currently lives in Manhattan. Sarah graduated from BCDS in 1999 and her two sisters, Nicole and Lexi, are also Bi-Cultural graduates. Their parents, Jodi and Richard, were the Guests of Honor at the BCDS Celebration Dinner in 2010 and they remain tremendously involved in BCDS and the Stamford community. We are so fortunate to have Sarah here with us tonight as one of our honorees and we hope that she continues to follow in her parents’ footsteps.
