Liz Kitay

Young Leadership Award

Liz has been involved as a volunteer and active member of the BCDS Parents Association since her first child entered BCDS in 2003.  She knew from the beginning that she wanted to be involved in the school and is grateful for the outstanding education that her children have received.  Over the years, BCDS has been more than just a school for Liz and her family; it has become part of her extended mishpacha.

Her strong leadership as Co-Chair of the BCDS Auction for the past two years has helped to increase event revenue as well as expand the Auction’s audience base by bringing it online.  In addition to co-chairing the Auction, Liz can frequently be found at BCDS throughout the year volunteering wherever and whenever necessary.

Liz also serves as a volunteer in various activities and organizations in Stamford. She is involved in The Friendship Circle and for the last five years, has led a growing team to raise money for the Bennett Cancer Center’s annual walk. She is also a graduate of the Behrend Institute for Leadership, a program offered by UJF of Greater Stamford, New Canaan and Darien. This program has helped her become a more effective leader at Bi-Cultural and throughout our community.

Currently, Liz teaches pre-school at the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School. She grew up in Stamford and continues to live here with her husband Marc and their three children, Amber (’10), who currently attends the Jewish High School of Connecticut, Max (8th grade), and Zac (5th grade).

We are thrilled to be honoring Liz tonight and certainly appreciate all that she has done for our school.  We look forward to her continued commitment to BCDS and the Stamford community.
