Cindy and David Pitkoff

Guests of Honor

From the moment they came to visit Bi-Cultural Day School, taking their initial tour with Sandy Kamen before meeting with founding Principal Walter Shucatowitz, David and Cindy Pitkoff felt a special bond with our school. They quickly became active, volunteering their time, their energies and their talents to Bi-Cultural which became a focal point of their family life and commitment to building a stronger Jewish Community.

Cindy became involved in BCDS's Parents Association in 1998 when her oldest child began Kindergarten.  She continued to be active in the PA for the following ten years serving as Classroom Parent, Recording Secretary, Vice-President and Member at Large. After spending four years teaching at the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School, Cindy returned to BCDS this past September to teach Pre-K, continuing her longstanding involvement with the school.  She currently continues to teach Kindergarten and 7th grade at Temple Sinai's Religious School and spends her summers working at the Long Ridge Day Camp.

David first became active at Bi-Cultural when he was asked to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees ten years ago. Since then he has worked tirelessly for our school as a member of the Executive Committee, Chair of the Finance Committee, Vice-President of the Board and most recently was appointed as a member of the Bi-Cultural Board of Incorporators. He also served on numerous search committees including the search for our Head of School and Head of Judaic Studies. David has also been active at his shul and community serving as Past President and Treasurer of the Mount Kisco Hebrew Congregation, in addition to serving as Treasurer and Board member of the Art Bridge Association. David is a Senior-Vice President at Jason Maxwell, Ltd., a financial services company based in Scarsdale, NY and a partner in BKMD Certified Public Accountants.

Cindy and David’s three children graduated from Bi-Cultural and continue to excel in their academic pursuits. After graduating from SAR High School, Joshua (BCDS ‘07) completed a year at Yeshiva Maale Gilboa in Israel and is now enrolled at Princeton University. Danielle (BCDS ’09), a senior at SAR, will be spending next year in Israel studying at the seminary Midreshet Ein Hanatziv. Andrew (BCDS ’11) is a sophomore at SAR.

Our Bi-Cultural Day School community is grateful for David and Cindy’s continued commitment to our school and is thrilled to celebrate them as our Guests of Honor.
